Calvary Chapel of LaGrange
Verse-By-Verse Through the Bible

 Grace and peace to you.

We at Calvary Chapel of LaGrange invite you to join us as we seek to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 3:18

It is our desire to follow the example given to us by the early church in Acts 2:4,
"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers."

Join us as we study the whole Word of God, verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter, book-by-book and as we worship the Lord in spirit and truth.

"Your word have I hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You."  PSALM 119:11

The word of the LORD is a seed which is planted in our hearts. Like a seed which is hidden in good soil, in its due time, it springs forth, ultimately producing much fruit. The word of the LORD always enters the heart when it is sown into us; whether by a spoken word from others, a word read by us, or by the still small voice of the Lord. When it enters our hearts, the word always changes us, simply by its presence there. In due season, that which was planted  and was once hidden, springs through and comes up. Have you ever thought, "I did not even know that I knew that verse?" I like pumpkin seeds which when planted immediately pop out of the soil, grows quickly, and produce large fruit. Seeds that take a long time to even spring out of the soil like those which produce flowers frustrate me. But how different would the world be without flowers? One of the fruits produced by the word in our hearts is the desire to avoid sin. It is produced by a growing love for the LORD and the desire to avoid hurting Him. It has been said, "The word keeps you from sin and sin will keep you from the word." Let us hide the word in our hearts that we might not sin against the LORD; and in its due season it shall spring forth to produce much fruit, in Jesus' name. Amen.

The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His Countenance upon you, and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26
